Lions:
In a nutshell, Lions like me are natural-born leaders – we are positive, proactive and goal-oriented. Our commit- ment to excellence and conscientiousness means we are often high achievers too. As a partner, we’re stable, loyal and go above and beyond for the ones we love. With friends and family, we invest heavily in a few key relationships and are often referred to as a ‘good influence’.

Your behaviours: You’re early to rise and love your morning routine – it’s likely to start at the gym, yoga, or with a run. With productivity peaking in the first half of the day, you like to tackle the most challenging tasks of the day first. That said, by late afternoon, you’re often mentally sapped, so you find yourself retreating for some much-needed recharge time – socialising, exercising, or simply soaking up some sun. In the evening, your energy is at an all-time low, so you love nothing more than a relaxed dinner and early bedtime – after all, you want to be fresh for the morning.

At work: You are strategic, analytical and forward- thinking.
At play: You are health-oriented, risk-adverse and enjoy routine.
In a relationship: You are stable, committed and dedicated.
Socially: You prefer quality over quantity – think intimate experiences over large gatherings.
Biggest strength: You are a leader for proactivity and positivity – in your best light, it radiates from you.
Biggest challenges: Perfectionism and staying in the here and now – you’re always thinking about what’s ahead, sometimes to your detriment.
Best careers: Anything that leverages your leadership qualities – CEO, director, manager, president, producer or business owner.
Health concerns: Anxiety.
Famous Lions: Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) and Anna Wintour (editor-in-chief of Vogue).

Bears:
Grounded, level-headed, humble and reliable – if you are a bear, others can depend on you, day or night, whatever the request. Known as hard-working team player, you love to be in a group and find yourself most motivated when you’re part of a team, whether for work or pleasure. As a partner, you’re generous and giving and typically put the needs of your loved ones before your own.
This extends to your family and closest friends too.

Your behaviours: Around 7am, you begin to rise – and head straight for a coffee to clear out that brain fog. After an hour or so, and maybe coffee number two, you’re ready for action. Throughout the day, mini-breaks see you through – that is, until 3pm, when, like clockwork, that slump hits. And, if you are sleep deprived, it’s even worse. Come evening, you’re pretty wiped out; however, you can also find it hard to switch off.

At work: You are team-oriented, industrious, humble – nothing is beneath you.
At play: You are flexible and relaxed.
In a relationship: You are dependable and easy-going.
Socially: You’re friendly, caring and love to keep everyone happy.
Biggest strength: Your reliable and hard-working nature means you deliver when needed – personally and professionally.
Biggest challenges: Prioritising your own needs – often you’re so busy pleasing others, you forget about yourself, which may cut into your needs for rest and relaxation.
Best careers: Anything that leverages your natural work–life balance and reliability, ranging from a primary caregiver, nurse or teacher to corporate roles with these requirements. Although you aren’t driven to become a leader, this often happens naturally, simply because you’re hard-working, dedicated and industrious.
Health concerns: Fatigue and depression.
Famous bears: Barack Obama, J.K. Rowling and Arianna Huffington (co-founder of the Huffington Post – or HuffPost).

Wolves:
If you’re a Wolf, you’re the night owl of the chronotype world. Wolves have two sides – you can be sociable, fun- loving and invigorating, but you’re also prone to sleep deprivation, which can leave you feeling stressed and anxious. At work, you’re a creative soul who shines when working on a project that you’re truly passionate about; however, when bored, you’re easily distracted and may procrastinate. At home, you squeeze the last bit out of every day, even if it means burning the candle at both ends. Socially, you are connected to many circles, but when you’re in an intimate relationship, you may withdraw and spend most, if not all, of your time with your partner.

Your behaviours: If you had your choice, mornings would start at 8 or 9am with a double-shot espresso. However, should you need to rise earlier, a sociable coffee date or breakfast is your preferred way to start the day. After a slow-ish morning, your creative juices kick into gear and you notice that the later the day gets, the more you get into your flow. If you’re working on something and you’re completely absorbed in it, this can continue well into the evening – even in the absence of others. However, if you do call it quits at work, you’re usually keen for some adventure in the evening. You’re quite energised by now, after all. That said, if you’re sleep deprived, you may not be so enthusiastic about venturing out – cue couch time with Netflix. Of all chronotypes, you go to bed the latest, with lights out often creeping into the early hours of the morning. However, this doesn’t bother you too much – life is to be lived, right?

At work: Creative and unconventional.
At play: Spontaneous, daring, curious – you like to explore new places, people and experiences.
In a relationship: Playful, uninhibited.
Socially: You like everyone to have a good time and you are probably the last one to leave the party.
Biggest strength: Making the most of every day. However, if you’re sleep deprived, you may be limited in your ability to do so.
Biggest challenges: Being exhausted in the morning, yet wide awake in the evening.
Best careers: Something creative – entrepreneur, writer, singer, dancer, artist, designer, inventor.
Health concerns: Statistically, the Wolf has the poorest health of any chronotype: both physical conditions such as 2006 research by Massey University, NZ, found compared to Lions, they are 2.5 times more likely to rate their health as poor. Of particular concern is cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity; and mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and alcoholism. So - even though Lions do often suffer from anxiety, and Bears from fatigue and depression; Wolves are more likely than both to experience these conditions.
Famous Wolves: Pharrell Williams, Jay-Z, Elon Musk and Elvis Presley.
